Our department for vehicle safety carries out tests of the complete vehicle as well as of sub-assemblies.
Karmann has highly efficient test stations, for example, for structure examinations of the bodies-in-white and it has a special FMH-test bench (to analyse the impact of the head), which provides safety relevant information for the design of the interior trim. Furthermore we closely cooperate with the Dutch company TNO at Delft, which supplies further testing devices and engineering capacities. All the test results are integrated into the development work.
Vehicle testing also certainly includes extensive tests of the complete vehicle under extreme weather conditions. In the realm of so-called summer and winter tests, the vehicles are thoroughly examined under extreme climatic conditions.
