The importance of laser technology in modern vehicle production has been increasing continuously. At Karmann, we have a pilot laser plant at our disposal, which is unique in the world.
We employ it for preliminary examinations, for the verification of process parameters and for prototypes. The results of the prototype phase are transferred to the production plant where the parameters are validated and optimised.
A robot or a portal installation is used as a guiding device for the laser head. The laser beam can be coupled in each cell as needed - be it CO2 or Nd: YAG laser welding.
This allows us to develop and produce laser welded, soldered and cut applications with an extremely high flexibility. And this holds true for complete bodies as well as for parts and assemblies. |
