Being a specialist for innovative roof systems, Karmann has been pushing the development of varied convertible top systems. We develop, integrate and produce the roof systems in close co-operation with our tooling and production divisions.
We develop and manufacture soft-tops, retractable hard-tops, hard tops and other innovative systems like dual tops.
Core domains are mechanics, kinematics, sealing, latch and operating systems, electrics, trunk lid/ parcel shelf/ top cover, roof and trim parts, textiles and interior trim.
The roof systems center closely cooperates with our concept team, vehicle engineering and production. When required, the knowledge of other departments is called in.
